How many of you caladari assaults run damage mods ? And the one's who dont, do you use all shield extenders, or find extenders and energizers to be better ? I'd like to know what some of you guys like best and why.

But what if your really good at aiming? Dont that just mean you kill insanely quick?

I don't yet have Assault proto only basic proto (They've only recently made it worth skilling into Assault role for Cal IMO). Considering the lack of a passive boost to shield regen with basic I fit it a bit differently than I would the assault proto.

I run 3 complex extenders with one enhanced energizer, enhanced regulator, basic repper and basic to enhanced CPU extender with Duvolle and TT-3 Assault scrambler. Although I do occasionally run fits with all extenders No recharger/energizer and I find it does allow me to take a tiny bit more of a beating but keeps me out of the fight longer to rep when damaged, sort of restricts my aggressiveness. That being said if I had Cal assault V I probably would be more comfortable running all extenders considering Shield regen would be 31.25 which would be just enough for the 560 or so shield hp.

I personally feel damage mods to be unnecessary with the AR, The theoretical increase to DPS is negligible considering the trade off is 72-79 shield hp or 5-7 hp per sec regen (not sure on the maths there, it's late and I'm not online). Although my perspective may be a bit different considering I have AR Prof V.

I have my ar operations, marksmen, and prof maxed as well. I have always heard people say they tank though and not many using damage mods. I currently stack damage mods and find that with strafing and the damage mods I can really take people out quick and win the firefight with most people 1 vs1. But that could be bc my core skills.

I would like to find a way to compare the mods and extenders fairly. ( I may kill as much or almost as much without the mods and escape death more often when using the extenders ) Have not tried them much yet. But the trade off is 18.7% damage for 150 shield hp on a cal assault.
